Agriculture extension in the 21st century has evolved to embrace e-learning as a sustainable and dynamic approach to agriculture didactics. The emerging reforms and changes in technology explicitly indicate that traditional agriculture research and extension system are no longer sustainable. A study carried in uMguza district of Matabeleland North province in Zimbabwe used qualitative methods to establish the use of e-learning tools for extension. Data was analyzed using SPSS 2013. Farmers have embraced e-extension approaches such as Whatsapp, sms, Vedio messaging and Twitter. Electronic learning methodologies using Whatsapp and Sms appear to be common among horticultural farmers where they are frequently used to post photographs of different disease symptoms and deficiencies in crops. There is a strong correlation (X2 = 10.64, P < 0.001) between use of sms and whatsapp. Farmers rarely use video call messages and twitter (r=0.43) E-technology (Electronic-technology) has made accessibility to extension services pretty ease and improved the relay of information to farmers in remote areas with ease and accuracy. However, this technology is constrained by lack of smart phone and network inaccessibility.
