AN INVESTIGATION INTO FACTORS INFLUENCING STUDENTS’ SATISFACTION IN FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC BAUCHI

The research work evaluates the level to which academic associated influences affect the general satisfaction of students in Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Nigeria. This research specific objective was to assess lecturer performance and students’ satisfaction; to evaluate the effect of student- lecturers’ interaction of the student and also to determine if students are satisfied with the Courses undertaken. This study was quantitative in nature using five point scale agreement survey instrument of collecting facts, required from the target sampled population of 312 scholars of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Nigeria. Three important issues remained embraced; they were framed to be the theoretical model used for testing the research. The analysed data included descriptive and inferential statistic. Correlation and linear regression were used. Conclusion was made; Student-lecturer interaction needs was highly encouraged to be able to execute instruction and scholarly achievement; doing this will inspire learners to be interested in the learning too. This study concluded that on student- lecturer interaction; lecturers should encourage students’ active participation during discourses; they also agreed that lecturers should provide response concerning student effort by way of remarks and scholars should also interrelate with the lecturers throughout the lectures. It is vital for lecturers to create decent rapport with their learners so as to raise students’ pleasure as learners are the main clienteles of the school and finally Lecturers need to treat students fairly and respect them.
