Background -Ganglioneuromas are extremely rare benign neural tumor, commonly derived from the ganglia of the sympathetic system, and are composed of mature Schwann cells, ganglion cells, and nerve fibres. They can arise from the base of skull to the pelvis along the paravertebral sympathetic plexus. Case report - We report a case of ganglioneuroma in the retroperitoneal region, mimicking as an ovarian mass. Conclusion- Retroperitoneal ganglioneuromas are usually present with local mass a benign tumoral course. The preoperative diagnosis may be difficult in pelvic ganglioneuromas due to close similarity with the ovarian masses. The treatment of the ganglioneuroma is total surgical excision and histology provides a confirmatory diagnosis.
