A field experiment was conducted from 2017 to 2018 to evaluate the effective of different herbicides against Glebionis coronaria in wheat field at Cheliya district of West Shoa, Ethiopia. The experiments were carried out in randomized complete design with three replications and it consists nine treatments: 2,4-D, Pyroxsulam, Aminopyralid+ Florasulam Florasulam + Flumetsulam, Pendimethaline, S-metolachlor, S-metolachlor + Atrazine, twice hand weeding and weedy check arranged in randomized complete design with three replications. Results indicated that treatments significantly affect yield and yield components of wheat. The highest mean grain yield (3861.4 kg/ha) was obtained from Aminopyralid + Florasulam followed by Pyroxsulam (3729.4 kg/ha). Similarly, the highest crop biomass yield (9554.2kg/ha) was obtained from Aminopyralid+ Florasulam followed by Pyroxsulam (9395.8 kg/ha). Weed density, plant height and biomass were significantly influenced by herbicidal treatments. The lowest number of weed count (11.33 plants per m2) was recorded from twice hand weeding followed by Pendimethaline , Aminopyralid + Florasulam, S-metolachlor and S-metolachlor + Atrazine that gave 14, 15.33, 22.67 and 26 plants/m2, respectively. The lowest G. coronaria plant height was recorded from twice hand weeding. The lowest G. coronaria weed biomass was recorded in twice hand weeding followed by Aminopyralid + Florasulam. Therefore, Aminopyralid + Florasulam and Pyroxsulam were effective in reducing G. coronaria density, plant height and biomass, and in increasing yield and yield components of wheat when there is shortage of labour for hand weeding. Hence, Aminopyralid + Florasulam and Pyroxsulam were effective against G. coronaria and can be used for integrated weed management of wheat in the future.
